The month of October has two choices as birthstones! The multi colored lover would naturally choose Opals. There are many types of opals: crystal opal, white opal, black opal, jelly opal, boulder opal, water opal and the list goes on. The optical fire and the way the gemstone reacts to light can be quite breath taking. The color patterns and different colors give this stone such uniqueness and are perfect for custom made or handmade creations.

The next choice is Tourmaline. It too has an abundance of choices and comes in a rainbow of colors. Indicolite Tourmaline is one of my favorites and reminds me of the Pacific Ocean.
